Frightlopedia Chosen for NYC School Library List
In an effort to get NYC public school students reading for pleasure, a team of school librarians read hundreds of books published within the last few years and a few titles for each grade that appeal to as diverse a range of readers as possible. On the list for Grade 4 is...FRIGHTLOPEDIA! It appeals to the brave readers!
Pranklopedia on Australian Radio
Thanks to an 11-year-old Pranklopedia reader who we will call "C.G." to protect his identity, I ended up on Australian Broadcasting Corporation's morning radio show, "Breakfast," today to explain how a cutout prank at the back of the book ended up alarming clueless residents of Brisbane. Apparently C.G. cut out the fake recycling notice and hung it on his neighbor's door. Someone who saw it then alerted the Brisbane City Council, who said they had nothing to do with it. From there, it ended up on the Facebook page of ABC, where commenters suggested it was part of an identity theft scam (not sure how that would work but...).
