Welcome! I’m Julie Winterbottom. I write and edit books, mostly for kids. I used to be the editor-in-chief of Nickelodeon Magazine, which explains why much of what I write is funny—like my book Pranklopedia and my latest production, What a Blast!, essential reading for anyone who has ever farted. In a more serious vein, Magic in a Drop of Water, my picture book biography of pioneering ecologist Ruth Patrick will be published by Penguin Random House in Spring 2025. I also write about art, science, history, and popular culture.
