Angelenos who craned their necks to see what message a skywriting plane was leaving for them on March 23, 2013, did a doubletake. The plane spelled out the words HOW DO I LAND? No, it wasn’t a cry for help from a novice pilot. It was a stunt dreamed up by comedian Kurt Braunohler. He raised $6,820 to fund the prank on Kickstarter and then let his backers vote on which message to use. The ephemeral joke had a very short life, but luckily, photographer Robyn Von Swank caught it on film.
